Verdict: ☆☆☆ ½ A humorous book which expresses about the insight of medical profession of a plastic surgeon which is unknown to an ordinary person. All those who want to know something new to them can grab this book.
About the book: When the superstar diva of the past decade doesn’t want to play the hero’s mother on screen, she insists that she be reshaped into the most beautiful woman in the world…by any means. This is just one of the many odd situations which plastic surgeon Dr. Dhruv faces in Mumbai. He has dealt with tyrannical bosses and finicky patients while undergoing his training, during which he has also won over a stunning doctor as his life partner. But satisfying the movie stars is a different ball game, because every girl wishes to have bee-stung lips, and every guy wants to flaunt a six-pack abdomen without working too hard. And all this while, he has to resist losing his balance over his ravishing female clients. Dr. Dhruv’s journey surpasses even a masala movie for humor, drama and action. In debunking many a myth about cosmetic surgeries, the book will enthrall those who can do Anything to Look Hot.
About The Author: When Dr. Jas Kohli started training in plastic surgery twenty years back, he hadn’t imagined that one day he would be exposing the secretive world of plastic surgeons and their clients. Apart from his interest in writing, he also enjoys astronomy, music and bird-watching. Through his writings, he aims to foster a stronger doctor-patient bond.
Review: The plastic surgeons enriches the beauty of human beings and make them hot and beautiful similarly the cover design is perfectly matched with the title and concept. The blurb clearly describe the life of a Plastic surgeon. The Author himself is a plastic Surgeon therefore he perfectly understood the insight of this profession that shows in his book. The narration of the book is interesting, and it not only describes you about the life of the surgeon but also tells you the relationship between husband and wife and father and son very beautifully. After reading the book, one can clearly understand the perfect features of an Actress/Actor is due to Plastic Surgery. However, the starting of the book was a bit slow but after 30-40 pages it picked up its face and one enjoys reading about the subject which is very new to the readers. The way author had discussed how Actors/ Actresses show tantrums, how they sometimes become over friendly, in spite of knowing that they were on a hospital bed with scissors was interesting. The motivators in the book Dr. Vidur and Dr. Jayaraj, The Murari’s honesty and dedication with Dr. Dhruv were some of the facts which one cannot forget even after completing the book. I loved the relation between Nandini and Dr. Dhruv. It was the highlight of the book that kept you to finish the book until the end. The End note of hilarious and worth Sharing:
As for me, (Dr. Dhruv) I will continue to annoy God by altering his creations, until he pronounces, ‘Enough is enough. Summon this chap to me!”
It is clear after reading this book, God creates Human Beings but the beauty of the face or body can be altered by a Plastic Surgeon.
Overall, a nice read for all those who wanted to get the detailed knowledge of the Plastic Surgeon Profession… Happy Reading!
Drawback: As a reader, I found ‘Nandini’ and Saloni were side-lined in the book. They should be given more importance in the book as they were the entertainment package of the book.
