Publisher: Penguin Metro Reads..
Verdict: ☆☆☆☆☆ A very good and detailed research about one of the famous Character of Indian mythology. A nice and apt narration. Loved each and every part of the story. One of the highlights of the Book was the full feel of reading a mythology as it was named ‘Adhyaye’ instead of Chapters. A must read book.
About The Author: Dr. Vineet Aggarwal is a doctor by qualification, manager by profession and artist by temperament. Born to a family of doctors, he successfully completed an initial stint with the family occupation before deciding to venture into pharmaceutical management and currently pursues writing as a passion.
He lives and works in Mumbai and is the author of popular online blogs 'Decode Hindu Mythology and Fraternity Against Terrorism and Extremism'. His literary repertoire covers topics from politics to poetry and travel to terrorism but his favorite genre remains the amalgamation of science with religion. This is his first book.
About The book: He was born a Kshatriya. He became a Brahmarishi.
When Satyavati, wife of Rishi Ruchik, exchanges with her mother, Queen Ratna, the magic potion for bearing a child, they change not just their children's destiny, but also the history of mankind.
Born of this mix-up is Vishwamitra, the son of a Kshatriya, with the qualities of a Brahmin. The duality in his life soon begins to show as he strives to become a Brahmarishi-the ultimate, the most powerful of all Gurus.
Vishwamitra is the riveting story of a brave but stubborn, haughty yet compassionate, visionary king of Aryavarta who became one of the most well-known sages of all times.
Review: Mythology is always interesting to read, If it is about a specific character you always wish to read and Vishwamitra was one of the character I always desired to read as a reader and Vineet had written in a very detailed manner. There were many such knowledgeable paragraphs which as a person I didn’t know and for that I really appreciate the author. We always resite “Gayatri Mantra” when we do Yoga or morning prayers, but nobody knows it’s Origin. It was originated by “Vishwamitra’. This was the best Knowledge I got from this book. The cover was nice and Suits the Character. The blurb creates an Urge to read the full book as It gives you Brief about the Character “Vishwamitra”. I loved the title “The man who challenged God” and The way he did it was interesting. The Book takes you to the journey of “Self Realization”. My favorite character in the life of “Vishwamitra was “Menka” and I was happy to read the way she tried to seduce Vishwamitra was interesting. I loved their relation. Each and every detail about “Vishwamitra” really made me speechless. He was really one of the great characters of Indian Mythology and Author had done a great job by giving immense knowledge about him. As a debut author he took an interesting concept for his book. I really appreciate his study on Mythology. The end really gave me full satisfaction and good knowledge about “Vishwamitra”. I would strongly recommend everyone who loves to read mythology. All the author. Love to read more from your knowledge.
