Each story here is special; has its own value and outlook. Somewhere you will definitely find yourself connected to at least one of the stories here.

Review: As a reader, I am very fond of Love stories. Though as a reviewer I read all types of generes but Romantic books will always be close to my heart and If It is written beautifully then it will be Icing on the cake. The cover design of the book is mesmerizing and pleasing perfectly suited with the Title and Blurb. Thanks to “Book Bakers”. The best part of the Author Priyanka is she is best in describing emotions whether in poems or stories the reader get involved in the stories. So was I totally involed in the stories. I was connected with the emotions of the characters of the stories. Let’s discussed each story in detail:

      i.         Just foryou, My Love: A very beautiful love story between and girl and Boy. Sometimes love change you totally. That what happened to Dhuruv who changed from atheist to believer of God. Beautifully written

ii.        The dumb me: Author had beautifully explained the meaning of love. Ruhi and Rohit’s relation touched my heart. When you are unware about love and someone explain you the meaning of love by his gestures is really beautiful.

iii.        Guardian Angel: I just loved this story. Really touched my heart. One of my favourite story. The way Abhinav came as a light to Kiara and his aunt suffering from depression. They way he had made them smile really touched my heart. A nice story.

iv.        Love was Hidden: It’s true there are fights between the couple but love is still there need some spark. Jyoti and shivam had beautifully handled it and had a lovely ending. Nice story.

     v.        Silent Emotions: A very emotional story. I Agree with the Author. Sometimes Love and relationship is more important then money. The way parul understood the importance of relationship was hearttouching and beautiful.

vi.        BlindDate: it’s true if there are issues in the marriage between couples one should solve it immediately rather than making it complicated. The way Arnav had solved his issues with shamita by becoming virtual chat friend was interesting to read. I enjoyed it..

vii.        The One Call: It’s true Love is more important then value, culture, traditions. If you love someone just forget the customs they are just for the society. Author had wonderfully explained in this story. Nicely written.

viii.        Being Me: A nice relation between A stranger Latika and Aman. The emotions were well described.

ix.        Love,Lost and found: It’s true Love is all around and Life is full of love one just have to search it. Shekher and Aditi’s love really touched your heart. I as a reader totally got involved with them. Beautifully written

     x.        The last Adventure: One of the most emotional story that will make you cry. Dia as a adventurous girl full of life lost her life was truly emotional. Loved it.

xi.        Dear husband: Trust is the most important factor in a relationship and that is very nicely explained by the Author by Rohan and Ayesha’s relationship as a married couple. Nice story.

xii.        Affair Online. Sometimes we run around outer beauty and forget the inner beauty. Love is based on inner beauty. Palak and Rikky’s relation will cleary explain this. Nicely done.

xiii.        Downfall: A small doubt can ruined your relation, your career everything. A nice and sweet story…

All the stories were nice and interesting but my personal favourite were Guardian Angel and Love, Lost and found . One can read this book while travelling or sipping a coffee in a lazy Sunday Afternoon.

Drawback: Only some Editing mistakes were there which needs to be rectified.

All the best Priyanka. Loved to read more from your writings…..

Verdict: ☆☆☆ ½  Short stories are always Interesting to read, If it is written in a simple and beautiful manner. It is a collection of 9 stories blend with emotions that will surely make you cry. A good book for a Lazy Sunday..

About The Author: Anupa Mehta is a widely published author and columnist. Her first novel ‘The waiting Room was published in 2007, along with a book of interviews with leading artists titled India 20. She was founding editor, Art India, and has edited several books on Indian contemporary art. Her day job is that of an art consultant. She turns to fiction, her first love, to locate life’s redeeming moments and it’s beauty; to re-acquaint readers with the transformational power of art.

About The book: Unseasonal rain is a bouquet of extraordinary stories centered on the idea of loss in the lives of ordinary people. Each tale tunes into moments of rupture in a calibrated manner to record the daily destruction that is part and parcel of life. Mehta evokes a roller coaster of memories through characters as vulnerable and flawed as any we might know. These stories - some of which bubble with the patois Gujarati immigrants and their local counterparts - bring to the surface the strange, often absurd desires of the heart. Not only to surprise and delight, but also to reveal inexplicable mysteries at the heart of human experience.

Review: First look of the cover is beautiful and Title make you assume to be a love story but Blurb clearly indicates that it contains shorts stories dealing with loss of lives  of people. All the stories are blend with emotions that will make you cry. It is written in simple language and easy to understand. Each characters are well defined and they relate to the lives of ordinary people as they have faced the loss in their own life which makes you get connected with them. The book contains 9 stories and all of them are interesting to read but the two of my favourites are:

 1.    A Distant Aunt: How some relation is close to your hear that their loss makes you helpless. This is what explained in this story. All the emotions were beautifully captured by the Author. The journey of Meena Kaki will really make the readers emotional. She was a dutiful wife and a very kind lady. The beauty of this story is it will make you feel content and you will also remember the people who made an impact in your life.

 2.    Lists is the story about an old lady Kamal Fai, who lives in a now dilapidated mansion on the outskirts of Mumbai and who loves and still pampers her niece Ronita like she is a kid; bringing her sweets and home cooked savouries and calling upon her most weekends she is indeed quite fond of her. But Kamal Fai has one peculiar habit – that of making all kinds of lists. Tanu is Ronita’s friends and through her she discovers the world of Kamal Fai. From the moment they meet, they become quite fond of each other with Tanu visiting her on almost all weekends. Kamal Fai confides in her and dotes on her. But soon old cage and grief catches up with her and one day she dies. Tanu grieves the sudden departure of her beloved friend but is surprised to find out a small package left for her. What she finds is not only beautiful but also heart touching.

All the stories are so emotional and heart touching that you feel like depressed but at the same time enjoy reading the stories as I am sure it will make you remember your people who are closed to you.

All the best Author. Love to read more from you…..

Mrs Funny Bones

   Publisher: Penguin Books..

Verdict: ☆☆☆☆ 7/5  A nice and funny book that will tickle your bones as per the Title. Each and every chapter is based on our daily life and it is presented in a very funny way that will surely make you laugh till the end. A must read book to get some laughing dose.

About The Author: Twinkle Khanna, aka Mrs Funnybones, crafts satirical stories and funny fables when she is not running a design business, selling candles or running in circles around her small but rather odd family. She narrowly escaped a gruesome tragedy when Bollywood tried to bludgeon her brain to the size of a pea, but she ducked at the right moment and escaped miraculously unharmed. She is a popular columnist and is a regular contributor to The Times of India and DNA After Hrs. Currently, she is in the process of creating lame jokes like, ‘Why do all Hindu boys worship their mother? Because their religion tells them to worship the cow.’ She firmly believes that nothing in life is sacred except laughter.

About The book: Good morning, it’s 6 a.m. and I am wide awake because the man of the house has decided that he needs to perform a series of complex manoeuvres that involve him balancing on his left elbow. When I fell asleep last night, there was a baby lying next to me. Her smelly diaper is still wedged on my head but aside from this rather damp clue, I can't seem to find her anywhere. I could ask my mother-in-law if she has seen the baby, but she may just tell me that I need to fast on alternate Mondays, and God will deliver the baby back to me . . . Full of wit and delicious observations, Mrs Funnybones captures the life of the modern Indian woman—a woman who organizes dinner each evening, even as she goes to work all day, who runs her own life but has to listen to her Mummyji, who worries about her weight and the state of the country. Based on Twinkle Khanna’s super-hit column, Mrs Funnybones marks the debut of one of our funniest, most original voices.

Review: The cover is nice and beautiful crafted. The title is interesting and perfectly suited with the concept. It will surely tickle your bones and make you laugh. While reading this book in metro or in office, I could not control my laughter and people started looking at me as why I am laughing without reason. I just enjoyed twinkle’s writing style. We all belive that Stars are super Hero’s but this book clearly shows us that they too have life just like us and they also face difficult situations and that what Author had narrated in this book with a funny touch that will make you laugh like hell. She had talked on every issue from girlfriends to boyfriends, from mother-in law to sister inlaw, from men to menstruation in a very light hearted way that will surely make you laugh. She is just like a normal human being who plays pranks travel in a Rickshaw. I just enjoyed reading every bit of it. As a reader, I will recommend everyone to read this book and enjoy laughing dose. A witty and humorous tale that will release your stress of daily life..
