Firstly, On behalf of reviewstation, I congratulate you for your debut novel “The Justified Sin”.
Q1. Firstly, tell me something about yourself?
My life was always an experiment for me, after my engineering got over I worked in Bangalore for a year or so, which never satisfied me. I wanted more from life, more satisfaction something to keep me composed. And finally one day I left the job, came back home, thinking about doing something on my own. It was quite hard for me at that time, trying for different working options till I finally decided to join my Dad.
Q2. How did your journey from the businessmen to a writer begin?
Reading & Writing were always on top in my list of interests. I started writing at the age of 16, never wrote anything specific though. Wrote few stories, poems including the story of “The Justified Sin”, and when I got time and few friends to guide me through, I decided to give it a shot and thus few pages were turned into a complete furnished story.
Q3. What is the source of your inspiration?
As I said, I started writing at the age of 16. This story was written few years back but it was not as a book should be. And coming back to the current time, when I got few friends to motivate my writing, I decided to give it a try which was appreciated by friends. All credit goes to my friends who kept pushing me all the time and supporting me with whatever possible.
Q4. Why did you choose the title “The Justified Sin”. Tell me something about your book?
Title is as intriguing as the story, and it goes completely with it.
We do mistakes, we do wrong, and we commit Sins; sometimes intentionally and at times it’s unintentional. After all it’s part of life, we learn from our mistakes and tries to improve. But what if we do something for the good and it is called wrong, what if we are made to live with it and That’s how we came up with such title. It was quite hard, but as they good things demand efforts.
What do you call it when three beautiful women come in your life, but you are still single? What if they all, at some point, tried to entice you, but you feel like committing suicide because of loneliness? What do you call it when you made no mistake, but still, you feel guilty as sin? This is what my book is all about; story of a guy having everything yet nothing, he did everything to keep people happy yet he was accused, he was betrayed and what not. Let’s keep something for our readers to read and let’s keep the excitement.
Q5. How was your experience with Author Empire India?
It is indeed very hard, from writing to publishing, things get heavy and at times it becomes difficult to manage your personal and professional life. But as they say, it’s all about luck. I count myself one such lucky guy, to get in with Authors Empire. Throughout the journey from very starting till the end Kunal Marathe was very supportive, from guidance and at times taking things completely on himself, he is one such hard working publisher you will hardly find these days.
Q6. How are you promoting your book? How will you reach the reviews of the book?
There is nothing much to do, my main goal is to reach every possible corner with my book and convey my feelings through my words. I am trying my best to do that, making people aware about my book using offline and online mediums.
Q7. What are your future goals in terms of writing?
For now I won’t be able to say much, as I am a Broker, which keeps me busy all the time and I am a kind of person living in present. I try to live every single moment, feeling it and doing whatever makes me feel better. But still I try to devote much of my time to writing which keeps me composed. But for the moment my mind will be towards reaching every possible corner with my book.
Q8. Apart from writing what are your other interests?
Apart from writing, I would say exploring new places, music, long drives are on top. I travel to places, prefer staying far away from the normal world, which indeed helps me in keeping myself calm n composed.
Q9. Where did you get the idea of your first book?
As I said, I started writing at 16. The story was something happening around to a person quite close to me. At that time, I was not sure of what to do with it, so I scripted whatever I could. This was the only incomplete story I had on my notes. And when I got the required support and guidance to write a book, it was done.
Q10. Any plans for writing another book or the sequel of the book?
This book is quite important for me, being the first one of me and of course the story is really close to me. For now I just wish to deliver my best in every possible form.
And definitely I will be back with my next book and I will try to put it up by next summer. It will be again something based on romance.
Q11. Do you have any idols or inspiration in the writing industry?
That’s actually a tough question. I read a lot, starting from Nicholas Sparks, Dan Brown to Jhumpa Lahiri, Amrita Pritam and Chetan Bhagat. I would say we get inspired from every single word we read. Not only reading, for me talking to friends is an inspiration in itself, going to different places, observing different things, all these are sources of inspiration.
Q12. When you see your writing into a book, what were your feelings?
It was great, everything happening around, the excitement, and the desperate wait to hold my book in my hands, everything was getting bigger by time. From the moment I got into writing and till I got the manuscript ready, the feeling was unbeatable.
Q13. How will you take negative feedback for the book?
I guess feedbacks are never negative, every word is kind a motivation in itself. It depends upon how you take it, counting some harsh words for your writing will be negative for sure but counting those words and implementing on those for your future will be positive. Learning is a process which never ends, so try to learn from every single feedback you get and that’s all that matters.
Q14. Finally what you want to say to the readers and Debut writers?
I will only say one thing, whatever you write, good or bad doesn’t matter, but do it from bottom of your heart. People don’t mind bad work but they do mind bad attempt. So till you are using your heart instead of brain for writing, your work will be appreciated.
And I just wish, people to like my work rather I want them to feel it.
